Today’s recipe was created from a random noodle craving I had during my work hours – so I decided to whip up this creamy dish with the ingredients that I had in my fridge! Surprisingly,  this only took me 20 mins to make!

I chose to make this with my Korean ramyun noodles, but this recipe would work perfectly with thin angel hair pasta, udon noodles or simply any type of noodles you may have in the cabinet!

I recommend pairing it with some kimchi, or even a crunchy salad for that extra fresh crunch with the creamy sauce.

Creamy Rosé Dishes

In Korea, a lot of people have been making variations of dishes by mixing a ‘red’ paste of some sort with cream sauce to make it a ‘rosé’ dish. For example, we have the viral rosé tteokbokki dish that came along a few years ago, which is Korean rice cakes coated with gochujang, a Korean red pepper paste. From here, they started adding a dash of cream to it, to make it less spicy and also to make it creamy. But because of the pinky colour the dish came out to be, it got the name ‘rosé tteokbokki’.

For this Creamy Tomato Bacon Noodle recipe, as you guessed it, I decided to add tomato sauce instead of gochujang.

I chose to add tomato sauce because it’s definitely more accessible to purchase, and you most likely will have it in your cabinet already. But next time I would love to try it with a spoonful of gochujang!

This recipe takes only 20 minutes, and it’s a perfect dish to make for lunch or even dinner. You can add your choice of protein, and even different veggies that would suit the dish. If you try it, please let me know!

Instructions

  1. Instructions

Begin by dicing 1/4 of an onion.

  2. Then slice 2 strips of bacon into small pieces.

  3. Turn on pan to medium heat and cook your bacon and diced onions with oil.

  4. While that's cooking, in a pot, add water and bring to boil.

  5. When bacon and onions are golden brown, add 1/2 Tbsp of minced garlic and stir-fry for 1 more minute.

  6. Then pour in 100ml of milk + 50ml of cooking cream. Skip the cooking cream step if you don't have it and instead add more milk.

  7. Turn to low heat and add 1/2 Tbsp of chicken powder and 3-4 pieces of peperoncino until it thickens. Then add your tomato sauce.

  8. Add ramen noodles or noodles of choice into the boiling water. Let it cook for 3 minutes and drain.

  9. Add the noodles quickly into the pan and mix with sauce.

  10. Sprinkle parsley flakes for extra flavour. Enjoy!
