Who doesn’t love a creamy dish? This is a delicious and easy meal you can make – for yourself or even on a home date night. It doesn’t involve too many ingredients, and you can even replace the udon noodles for any pasta you may have in your pantry. You can replace the bacon as well with your choice of meat, but I think the bacon really adds that salty-ness that this dish needs!

This recipe serves 1, but you can easily double the ingredients and make it for 2 servings. I love whipping this dish up for a quick lunch when I don’t have much time! You can find udon noodles easily in an Asian grocery store or as I mentioned earlier, feel free to use any noodles of your choice!

What should I serve with it?

I always love serving some sort of pickles or a side of kimchi when I eat something creamy. If you’re not a fan of pickles or fermented veggies, I think a nice soda on the side would be really good as well!

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Begin by dicing chopped onions and mincing garlic cloves.

  2. Then, slice your bacon strips into small pieces.

  3. Turn on heat to medium and drizzle pan with oil.

  4. Stir-fry your onions, bacon and minced garlic until golden brown.

  5. In a pot, add water and let it boil.

  6. Once the water boils, add your udon packet. Just cook until you can disassemble the noodles.

  7. In your pan, add 1:1 ratio of milk and cream and stir gently.

  8. Then, add 1/2 Tbsp of chicken bouillon powder OR season if salt if you don't have it. Adjust to your liking.

  9. Transfer the udon noodles from the pot and stir until the cream becomes thicker. Lower heat.

  10. Sprinkle chili flakes on top for some extra spice before serving!
