Let's make some crab rice balls!
This recipe is perfect to serve for a party, bring to a picnic or even have for a quick lunch! You can swap out the crab sticks for real crab meat or even swap it out with canned tuna, cooked salmon - it's up to you!
You can also take out the sriracha if you are making it for your kids- it'll still taste just as good.
This recipe makes 8 small rice balls, which is ideal for 1 person. So definitely double up the ingredients if you're serving for 2!
I get a lot of questions about the type of rice I use, and I use short grain sticky rice (sushi rice). You want to get this type of rice as you want the rice balls to stick as you're forming them.
Easy & simple crab rice balls filled with mayo, sriracha, seaweed, and rice!
Grab 3-4 crab sticks and separate them with 2 forks
In a bowl, add rice, separated crab sticks, mayo, sriracha, sesame oil, roasted seaweed (gim) and sesame seeds.
Mix all together. (You can add 1 tbsp of soy sauce in this step or you can leave it for the end)
Mold and shape into rice balls using gloves.
